Hazro HZ27WiDPA

Review by TFT Central

The Hazro HZ27WiDP uses an 8 Bit +FRC LG-AH-IPS panel with Plasma Deposition Coating, and was reviewed by TFT Central.  It performs like the Crossover 27QW DP, but has an 842hz PWM frequency, two year warranty and can be purchased from retailers with hassle free return and exchange policies in the UK.  I don't know if the 842hz PWM frequency is high enough to neither ruin motion clarity nor cause eyestrain like lower frequencies do.

The Z27x uses a glow free, matte, 8 Bit +FRC LG AH-IPS panel which does not have a colour compensation feature like the Eizo CX271 and Eizo CG277.  The HP can be hardware calibrated by editing an XML file, but to the same degree as the Eizo and NEC which makes them much better choices for colour accuracy related work.  The HP is a better choice for multi-media use though, especially gaming since it has lower input lag than the NEC PA272W and less ghosting than the Eizos.

HP 27Q

Review by Rtings

Matte IPS with AMD Free-Sync (48-75hz range), 75hz, decent preset color accuracy, Displayport, 1x HDMI 1.4 and 3.5mm audio out.  Has high input lag (28ms) unless the Free-Sync mode is enabled in the menu, and suffers from image retention.

HP DreamColor Z27x G2 Studio (2NJ08AT)

Measurements by Belgium Hardware

Fully adjustable matte 2560x1440 wide gamut IPS with Displayport, 2x HDMI, USB-C, 3.5mm Audio Out, 4x USB 3.0 and USB-C.  The HP suffers from a slight preset green tint, has nearly 2.4 average gamma and high input lag (35.7ms Leo Bodnar device measurements).

Fake frame-less 8 bit matte 2560x1440 AUO AHVA M270DAN 02.5 panel with a height adjustable stand and 2x USB 3.0.  It has excellent preset color accuracy, fast pixel response times with minimal overshoot ghosting, negligible input lag, AMD Free-Sync, and 75hz support (73hz via overclock with Nvidia graphics cards).

Lenovo L27q-10 IPS DP

Review by PC Magazine
Review by Playwares

The Lenovo uses a fake frame-less matte 27" 1440p matte AH-IPS panel with Displayport and HDMI, negligible input lag, fast pixel response times on par with 60hz competitors, and excellent color presets.  The Lenovo is not VESA compliant and has a fake frame-less casing with an inner black bezel which reduces the perceived black depth.

Very accurate and fully adjustable matte 2560x1440 144hz wide gamut LG IPS with G-Sync compatible AMD Free-Sync (48-144hz over Displayport and 48-100hz over HDMI) Displayport, 2x HDMI 2.0. RGB Lighting, 2x USB 3.0 and 3.5mm Audio Out. To prevent the wide gamut (DCI-P3/HDR) panel from over-saturating the color of SDR (HDTV/REC 709 & sRGB) content, the 27GL850 needs to be set to the sRGB mode (which is fairly accurate and has adjustable brightness, but has a preset pink tint and locked color controls.  The 27GL850 has quite accurate and nearly full DCI-P3/HDR color space coverage, but has a slight, though easily reduce-able preset blue tint.  The 27GL850 has negligible or very low input lag and very fast pixel response times with minimal overshoot, but the overdrive needs to be set from Normal to Fast at 144hz to provide the fastest pixel response times, and to Normal at 60hz to prevent obvious overshoot ghosting.

LG 27GL83A-B

Review by Rtings

Fully adjust-able matte 2560x1440, 144hz IPS panel with AMD Free-Sync, Displayport, 2x HDMI, and 3.5mm Audio Out.  The 27GL83A-B does not over-saturate the color of SDR (HDTV/REC 709 & sRGB) content since it has a standard, or non-wide gamut panel which tries to cover the HDTV/REC 709 and sRGB (SDR) color spaces.  The preset Gamer 1 Picture mode is quite accurate, but not as accurate as some competitors, especially since the 27GL83A-B can not fully cover the sRGB color space while the more accurate, and more expensive 27GL850 can, even when set to the sRGB mode.  The 27GL83A-B has negligible input lag and extremely fast pixel response times which are faster than many competitors.

LG 27QN880-B

Review by PRAD

Fully adjust-able (stand base clamps to desk), matte, 2560x1440, 75hz IPS with Displayport, 2x HDMI, 2x USB 3.0, USB-C and 3.5mm Audio Out.  The 27QN880 has 890:1 contrast, a 33-423cdm/2 brightness range, 99% sRGB color space coverage, and is very accurate aside from the gamma which drops below 2.0 starting at 90% white.  The Fast overdrive setting provides fast pixel response times with almost zero overshoot at both 60 and 75hz.  PRAD measured a 12.8ms signal delay at 60hz, and 6.4ms at 75hz; both measurements (oscilloscope) allow the 27QN880 to be considered delay free.

Fully Adjustable matte 2560x1440 Samsung PLS panel with Disaplyport In & Out for Daisy Chaining, Dual-Link DVI, HDMI 2.0, 4x USB 3.1 including USB-C and 3.5mm Audio In and Out.  The NEC is very accurate, supports hardware calibration and has uniformity compensation, but has very high input lag and very slow pixel response times (Over Drive Off), or suffers from very obvious overshoot ghosting (Overdrive On) which makes it only suitable for very casual gaming.

Nixeus NX-VUE27S

Review By Tom's Hardware

The PRO Vue 27P uses coated tempered glass some call Plasma Deposition Coating, is fairly accurate once set to the User mode, but has high input lag (>20ms) for a modern (2019) 1440p monitor.  PDC coated monitors are the clearest, least reflective and most vibrant type of glossy monitors, but the black looks greyish due to the perceived black depth decreasing glass covered black bezel.  The perceived black depth can be increased with bias lighting (light placed behind the display) or by placing non-stick silver tape tape on the black bezel.

Nixeus NX-EDG27S v2 & NX-EDG27v2

Review by TFT Central

Matte 2560x1440 144hz AUO AHVA panel with AMD Free-Sync (30-144hz over Displayport and HDMI), 2x Displayport, 2x HDMI2.0.  The non-S version, the NX-EDG27v2 does not come with a height adjustable stand.  The Nixues is very accurate, but is a bit too warm (5800k color temperature) or has a minor preset orange or red dominance.  It can be considered to be display free or to have negligible input lag (TFT Central measured <5ms with the SMT Tool), but has significantly slower pixel response times than some AHVA panel using competitors, however, it is important to remember that the Nixeus is one of the cheapest 144hz 1440p non-TN panels, and that the Innolux IPS panels are also slower than the best AHVA panels such as the Acer XF270HUA bmiidprzx.

Overlord Tempest X27OC

Discontinued 2013-2015 overclock-able glossy 2560x1440 LG AH-IPS panel.

Review by Tom's Hardware

The Overlord Tempest X27OC uses a glossy 8 Bit LG S-IPS panel like the MOTV M2700 and Yamakasi Catleap, performs the same, and can be overclocked up to 120hz. The single input 1440p Korean S-IPS panels all suffer from an obvious preset green tint, green over-saturation after calibration, lack menus with color controls and only work with PC's when connected with a Dual-Link DVI cable.

Philips 272B7Q-P

Review by Les Numeriques

The Philips uses a fake frame-less (all frame-less monitors have perceived black depth ruining inner black bezels) matte 27" 2560x1440 LG IPS panel with a height adjustable stand, built in web camera, 3x USB ports, HDMI, Displayport in, Displayport out for daisy chaining, VGA and 3.5mm audio in and out.  Its color presets are very accurate, it has fast pixel response times, can be considered delay free, but has average contrast of around 800:1.

Pixio PX7 Prime

Review by Rtings

Fully adjust-able, matte 2560x1440, 165hz IPS panel with AMD Free-Sync (20-165hz), 2x Displayport, HDMI 2.0, 1x USB 3.0 and 3.5mm Audio Out.  The PX7 Prime is quite accurate, and can fully cover the SDR (HDTV/REC 709 & sRGB) color spaces.  The PX7 Prime has neligible input lag and very fast pixel response times when the Middle overdrive setting is used, but it's not as fast as a fastest AHVA/IPS/PLS competitors, those being the the LG 27GL83 and 27GL850 which are faster and almost overshoot free unlike the Gigabyte AD27Q.

Planar PXL2790MW

Review by Tom's Hardware

Plasma Deposition Coated 2560x1440 LG -AH-IPS panel with Displayport, Dual-Link DVI, HDMI and 3.5mm Audio In & Out.

The Planar PXL2790MW use coated tempered glass some call Plasma Deposition Coating.  The Planar is very accurate, has fast pixel response times and is clearer and more vibrant than monitors without PDC, but has a 20ms delay (measured with the Leo Bodnar device) and has a glass covered black bezel which vastly reduces the perceived black depth.  The perceived black depth can be increased with bias lighting (light placed behind the display) or by placing non-stick silver tape tape on the black bezel.  The Planar has one flaw which some may deem fatal which is the very high minimum brightness of 174cdm/2 when the menu brightness is set to zero.

Glossy Qnix QX2710

Discontinued 2013-2014 2560x1440 Samsung PLS panels which either came with 120-160 LED PWM Dimming or no PWM.

Review by NCX of the original version without LED PWM Dimming or Flicker.

Video Review by NCX of the 2014 version with a different inferior panel and LED PWM Dimming or Flicker.

Qnix QX2710 Multi Hot

It's the same as the QX2710R, but has a nice brushed dark matte grey bezel which vastly increases the perceived black depth while the QX2710R uses a glossy black bezel which ruins the perceived black depth, but has more inputs and costs more.  I recommend buying the Multi Hot over the others since I have tested it.

It can be overclocked to 87hz via Dual-Link DVI without skipping or dropping frames.

Review by NCX

Qnix QX2710R

Review by Playwares
.

The updated DP Multi True 10 is much better than the original since it is actually PWM/Flicker free, has double the contrast, faster and actually competitive pixel response times, and more accurate colour presets.  It is one of the best budget, multi-input matte 1440p options, but the slightly more expensive Asus PB278Q/PB278QR is better.  The QX2710R has faster pixel response times (less ghosting) and higher contrast than the QHD2730R, but the QHD2730R uses a PLS panel with less glow.

Qnix QX2730R

Review by Playwares.

The QHD2730R is similar to the QX2710R, but uses a PLS panel.  It's a great budget multi-input matte choice, but the slightly more expensive Asus PB278Q/PB278QR is better.

Razer Raptor 27

Review by Tom's Hardware

Matte, fully adjust-able, 144hz, HDR/wide gamut, 2560x1440 resolution IPS* panel with AMd Free-Sync and G-Sync compatibility.  The Razer Raptor has Displayport, 2x HDMI 2.0, USB-C and 3.5mm Audio Out.  The Razer is very accurate, but has a slight preset red tint and over-saturates the color of non DCI-P3 content (HDTV/REC 709 & sRGB) by 36% since it uses a wide gamut and HDR capable panel without a properly functioning sRGB emulation mode.  The HDR mode is more accurate than the SDR modes, and the Razer has negligible input lag and fast pixel response times for a non-TN panel.

Review by Alexander Gryzhin (=DEAD=)

The Samsung S27H850QFI uses LED PWM Dimming or Flicker (very low 240-250hz) when the brightness is set below 36 (0-35; 36 Brightness in the menu is around 220cdm/2 which is vert bright), has a high minimum brightness (105cdm/2 vs <80 for many competitors) but has good preset color accuracy and is fully adjustable.

Matte 8 bit 27" 2560x1440 75hz Samsung PLS panel with AMD Free-Sync and outstanding preset color accuracy. April 3rd 2020 Update thanks to stplsd

The S27H850QFU uses low frequency LED PWM Dimming (source) when the brightness is set below a certain point (x/100).  It probably uses low frequency PWM when the brightness is set under 36 (0-35/100) like its predecessor the S27H850QFI.
