HP Elite S270n

Review by Les Numeriques

Matte 3840x2160 resolution, LG LM270WR3-SSA1 IPS panel with low glow, a perceived black depth reducing inner black bezel, Displayport, HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and USB-C.  The HP has low contrast (around 700:1), high preset gamma (2.4 average) which can not be reduced, and can cover 98.4% of the sRGB color space.  The HP has good overdrive (fast pixel response times with no obvious overshoot) when the Over Drive setting is set to Level 4; the reviewer did not test the delay or input lag.

iiyama XB2779QQS

5120x2880 or 5K semi-wide gamut IPS panel with Plasma Deposition Coating.  The iiyama XB2779QQS over-saturates color significantly unless used with programs which support color management.

iiyama XUB2792UHSU

Review by PRAD

Matte 4K IPS with very accurate color presets, negligible input lag, but slower than average pixel response times for a 60hz AHVA/IPS/PLS panel.  It has a fully adjustable stand, Displayport, Dual-Link DVI (1440p), HDMI 2.0, 2x UXB 3.0 (1x fast charging), and 3.5mm Audio In and Out.

Below are PRAD's oscilloscope measurements of three 27" 4K monitors pixel response times, including the VP2780-4K from 2015 which I own.  The iiyama's +2 overdrive setting speeds up the pixel response times significantly, but also causes overshoot ghosting.  The +1 setting provides a better balance between speed and overshoot.  The iiyama's overdrive is fine for casual gaming, but there are better options.

Lenovo P27u

Measurements and Review by Review by Belgium Hardware

Matte wide gamut 27" 4K IPS with Displayport, 2x HDMI 2.0, Mini Displayport, USB-C, 3x USB 3.0, 3.5mm Audio Out and a fully adjustable stand.  It's fairly accurate, but suffers from a preset blue dominance.

Lenovo ThinkVision X1

Measurements and Review by Belgium Hardware

Matte 27" 4K IPS with Displayport, HDMI, USB-C, 4x USB 3.0 and a web camera.  The gamma average is a bit too high (2.35 average), the RGB level accuracy is off, and it suffers from a preset blue dominance.

Review by Rtings

Matte 2018 model with 40-60hz AMD Free-Sync, 2x USB 3.0, and a height adjustable stand.  It is quite accurate and offers excellent all around performance.   It can display an HDR signal, but all it can do is max the brightness resulting in black looking grey, more obvious back-light bleed and glow, and vastly de-saturated HDR content viewing since it lacks a wide gamut panel.  Keep HDR turned off.

LG 27MD5KA

Measurements by Belgium Hardware

Fully adjustable matte and wide gamut 5120x2880 LG AH-IPS panel with a perceived black depth increasing matte grey bezel, a webcam and 3x USB-C.  It has excellent preset RGB balance accuracy, but slightly too high preset gamma and the Adobe RGB mode RGB balance is worse.

LG 27UL500

Measurements and Review by Belgium Hardware

Matte height adjustable 3840x2160 LG AH-IPS panel with 40-60hz AMD Free-Sync, Displayport, 2x HDMI 2.0 and 3.5mm Auido Out. The 27UL500 is least accurate of the tested 27" 4K monitors on the market, and while not awful, is not competitive, nor worth purchasing.  It has low 2.05 (average) gamma and slower pixel response times than the many better options.

LG 27UL550

Review by NCX

Matte height adjustable 3840x2160 LG AH-IPS panel with 40-60hz AMD Free-Sync, Displayport, 2x HDMI 2.0 and 3.5mm Auido Out.  The UL550 is pretty much the same as the UL650 aside from the fact that the UL550 has a perceived black depth increasing dark matte grey bezel while the UL650 has a fake bezel or frame-less panel with a perceived black depth reducing inner black bezel.  The 27UL550 is quite accurate, especially when set to the SMPTE-C mode, as well as offers top tier 60hz gaming performance (negligible input lag and fast pixel response times without overshoot ghosting).  Belgium Hardware's Standard Mode RGB Level Measurements (as well as others) are extremely similar to the 27UL550 I tested.

Monoprice 27" 4K RTD2795

Monprice advertises this matte 27" 4K monitor as a glass IPS panel with AMD Free-Sync (40-60hz range; not tested: I own a 980 ti); it uses a matte coated AHVA panel made by AUO: Proof.

NEC EA275WMi

Review by Tom's Hardware

Very accurate but has high input lag versus equally as accurate and cheaper competitors.

NEC EA275UHD

Review by Sergey Budilovsky (low <800:1 contrast and <2.0 gamma)
Review by Tom's Hardware (high contrast and non-linear + slightly too low U-shaped gamma curve)

It has a fully adjustable stand and lots of connections, but is vastly overpriced, has high input lag for no reason and suffers from low contrast and gamma.

Viewsonic

Viewsonic VP2780-4K

Set the Response Time setting in the Manual Image Adjust menu to activate the best overdrive setting which speeds up the pixel response times.  The VP2780-4K is one of the best 4K monitors, but it uses a 2015 panel with more glow than some of the newer competitors and is often not competitively priced.
